Overview
Open space, conservation, and recreation resources are essential to quality of life in Glendale. As the City continues to grow and evolve, it’s critical that our plans for parks, natural lands, and recreational programming reflect the community’s current and future needs. That’s why Glendale has officially launched the process of updating its Open Space & Conservation and Recreation (OSCR) Elements, key components of the City’s General Plan.
These updates build on past planning efforts, including strategic goals developed in 2002 and 2006, and align with the findings of the 2016 LA County Parks Needs Assessment, which identified Glendale’s southside as a high-need area for park space. The OSCR Updates will also help the City make the most of Measure A funding, which supports local park and open space improvements.
